...where you can figure out what I do and see some of the projects I've been working on...

What I do:

With the last of my talented Anastasis Communications team in July 2004. From left, Abbie Reese (writer), Susanne Eadelman (media liaison), Joshua Fletcher (photographer) and me.

I am serving as a volunteer with the international Christian non-profit organization Mercy Ships. The past three years I spent onboard the Anastasis, flagship of the fleet deployed to West Africa, working in the Communications Department. This department is responsible for recording, documenting and reporting the activities of the ship throughout the year, through photos, stories, video, multimedia, our ship intranet and various other methods.

On the ship I worked a regular work week in a very small office with a very cool team of people. For the first two years my job description was Graphic Designer / Intranet Designer / Writer. In October 2003, I transitioned into a new role as Communications Manager. My roles in Graphic Design and Intranet and Writing took a backseat as I led a team of six creative individuals for the duration of our six-month Sierra Leone 2003-2004 Outreach and into the European Public Relations tour.

In October 2004, I transfered back to land -- to the Mercy Ships Switzerland office in Lausanne, where I will continue to volunteer as a Graphic Designer with the Creative Pool located there, servicing the communications and creative needs of the global organization.

If you are interested in helping to sponsor my service with Mercy Ships, see the Contact page. If you would like to give to Mercy Ships or apply to serve on one of the ships or land bases, visit www.mercyships.org
